Dr. Wirtz is Research Professor of Ophthalmology at Oregon Health Sciences University, OR, USA. Her main research interest is identifying glaucoma susceptibility genes. Dr. Wirtz’s work has focused on identifying large families in which POAG has an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern. Over the past 20 years, her group has obtained DNA and clinical records on over 3000 individuals comprising more than 30 families.
